Phase 1: Stabilize & Align

First 90 days with ARKTIK Homeschool & University Prep

Phase 1 is where we reset the rhythm, establish trust, and align your student to a realistic working level using the ARKTIK textbook spine and EDU tenant.

This is not a “crisis-only” track. Phase 1 is the on-ramp for:

  • Families new to homeschooling

  • Micro-schools and co-ops launching a new cohort

  • Students shifting from traditional schools to a more tailored, access-aware model

  • GT and independent learners who need structure without losing autonomy

The outcome: after 90 days, everyone knows what’s happening, why, and what’s next.

Who Phase 1 Is For

Phase 1 is where we reset the rhythm, establish trust, and align your student to a realistic working level using the ARKTIK textbook spine and EDU tenant.

This is not a “crisis-only” track. Phase 1 is the on-ramp for:

  • Families new to homeschooling

  • Micro-schools and co-ops launching a new cohort

  • Students shifting from traditional schools to a more tailored, access-aware model

  • GT and independent learners who need structure without losing autonomy

The outcome: after 90 days, everyone knows what’s happening, why, and what’s next.

What We Do in the First 90 Days

In Phase 1, we focus on three things:

  1. Stabilize the Week

Build a predictable Monday–Friday rhythm anchored to ARKTIK textbooks and workbooks.

Lock in “what happens when” so the student (and adults) are not improvising every day.

  2. Align Level and Materials

Select ARKTIK texts based on age, current performance, and long-term targets.

Make sure reading load, problem sets, and writing tasks are ambitious but doable.

  3. Start a Clean Record of Work

Use simple planners and binders (plus the EDU tenant, if you choose) to capture:

    Weekly plans

    Key assignments

Short reflections or Conference Guide notes

No clinical or diagnostic data—just homework, habits, and progress.

The Phase 1 Weekly Engine

Every week follows the same backbone. Content changes; structure doesn’t.

Monday – Textbook Load-In

  • Core reading and direct instruction from ARKTIK textbooks

  • Short notes, highlights, or annotations to prove comprehension

Tuesday – Workbook Application

  • Targeted practice in ARKTIK workbooks

  • Short responses, problem sets, and skill checks tied to Monday’s reading

Wednesday – Polish & Anchor

  • Review and refine Tuesday’s work

  • Choose one piece to “polish” for the week’s mini-portfolio

Thursday – Checks & Conversation

  • Short, focused quizzes or mastery checks

  • A simple 1:1 conversation using ARKTIK prompts:

    • What did you learn?

    • What was hard?

    • What do we adjust next week?

Friday – File & Reset

  • File the week’s best work in a binder or digital portfolio

  • Update the weekly planner and capture any notes for future reference

This same engine works for:

  • A student using paper + pencil only

  • A family using the ARKTIK EDU tenant to upload samples

  • A micro-school running a small group with shared materials

How We Adapt for Different Learners

Phase 1 is one structure with different loads:

  • Access & Stability Learners

    • Lower initial volume; more repetition

    • Strong emphasis on predictable routines and clear success markers

  • On-Level Learners

    • Standard pacing with gradual increases in complexity

    • Balanced mix of reading, practice, and short writing

  • GT / Independent Learners

    • Same weekly skeleton, but:

      • Deeper reading or enrichment paths

      • Independent projects linked to the core texts

      • Optional advanced prompts and “stretch” assignments

In all cases, the pattern stays the same so everyone around the student can follow it.

What You Walk Away With After 90 Days

By the end of Phase 1, you have:

  • A 90-day planner showing how each week was structured

  • Binders or digital folders with:

    • Reading notes

    • Workbook pages and written responses

    • Quizzes, checks, and a few “best work” artifacts

  • A clear sense of:

    • Current working level

    • Areas of strength and friction

    • The student’s preferred learning tempo

For families and programs that need it, Phase 1 can also be translated into:

  • A simple 90-day progress memo (attendance patterns, key gains, next steps)

  • A snapshot that a registrar, program director, or advisor can read in a few minutes

How Phase 1 Connects to Phases 2 and 3

Phase 1 is the foundation:

  • Phase 2 – Build & Extend

    • Adds longer writing, projects, and lab-style work

    • Tightens executive function: planning, deadlines, and follow-through

  • Phase 3 – University & Career Launch

    • Formalizes courses, credits, grading, and portfolios

    • Prepares transcripts and application-ready artifacts

If all you need is a solid 90-day reset, Phase 1 stands on its own.
If you want a full multi-year arc, Phase 1 is your clean starting point.
