ARKTIK Curriculum & Tracks Overview

A floor-first, print-first formation stack for households, microschools, courts, agencies, and tribal/local programs.

ARKTIK Education is built as a modular formation system, not a pile of disconnected courses.

We organize the catalog in three layers:

2. Core Formation – The Spine for Every Learner

ARKTIK’s spine is built around three core domains. Everything else attaches to these.

2.1 Math

  • Structured by grade bands (upper elementary, middle, early high, late high).

  • Emphasis on:

    • Operational fluency

    • Word problems grounded in real household and civic scenarios

    • Clear, step-by-step written reasoning

  • Designed for:

    • Homeschool and microschool implementation

    • Youth with gaps from chronic absence or placements

    • Documentation that shows actual problem-solving, not just multiple-choice tests

2.2 Science

  • Organised to align with recognized middle and high school expectations.

  • Focused on:

    • Core concepts in physical, life, and earth/space science

    • Lab-thinking without requiring a full lab (household and community-based investigations)

    • Written observations and explanations that can be archived and reviewed

  • Designed to:

    • Run in homes, microschools, residential programs, and tribal/local settings

    • Produce tangible work samples and logs

2.3 ELA / Writing & Civics

  • Builds literacy in two directions:

    • Reading and analysis – narrative, informational, and civic texts

    • Writing for real life – statements, forms, letters, arguments, and reflections

  • Civics is embedded, not bolted on:

    • Rights and responsibilities

    • Basic governmental structures

    • Civic processes framed in neutral, “how this actually works” terms

  • Every module is built to:

    • Generate written artifacts

    • Show growth in clarity and structure over time

3. Design Principles & Standards Alignment

ARKTIK is engineered for bad conditions, not ideal ones.

Key design principles:

  • Floor-first:
    Modules are built around the least-prepared learner in a cohort. Stronger learners get extension; no one gets quietly dropped.

  • Print-first / offline-capable:
    Every module can run from print or static PDF. Internet is an enhancement, not a dependency.

  • Predictable structure:
    Lessons follow repeatable patterns to reduce cognitive load and anxiety.

  • Documentation by default:
    Plans, tasks, and assessments generate:

    • Work samples

    • Checklists

    • Progress notes
      usable for:

    • Homeschool records

    • School/district documentation

    • Voucher/ESA audits

    • Court/agency reports

    • Tribal or local program reviews

  • Standards-aware:
    Modules are mapped to recognized academic and skill standards (ELA, Math, Science, digital literacy, etc.) so:

    • Learners can transition back into more conventional settings if needed

4. Elective Catalog – Added by Design, Not Impulse

Electives are tools, not decorations. They are added when:

  • Core formation is stabilized, and

  • The elective advances a specific learner or program objective.

4.1 Italian

  • Focus: functional language use, culture awareness, and discipline in study routines.

  • Use cases:

    • Enrichment for strong readers/writers

    • Bridge to future language study and international contexts

4.2 Hebrew & Jewish Studies

  • Focus: basic Hebrew literacy (as configured), core texts, and Jewish history/culture at an accessible level.

  • Use cases:

    • Learners with interest in Abrahamic roots

    • Programs anchored in Jewish or interfaith contexts

4.3 Film & Photography

  • Focus: visual literacy, storytelling, basic technical skills, and ethical use of media.

  • Use cases:

    • Engagement pathway for visually-oriented learners

    • Project-based documentation of MicroFarms, community, and household life

4.4 RUST (Programming)

  • Focus: disciplined, modern systems programming foundations.

  • Use cases:

    • Learners with strong persistence and logic aptitude

    • Pathway to serious technical literacy, not toy coding

4.5 Biblical Studies

  • Focus: text literacy, context, and application of biblical texts to questions of justice, responsibility, mercy, and stewardship.

  • Guardrails:

    • Faith-informed, opt-in

    • Text handled with seriousness and respect, not entertainment

4.6 Kita Hyōkai

  • ARKTIK’s own disciplined formation track (rooted in martial and spiritual seriousness).

  • Focus:

    • Self-discipline

    • Responsibility

    • Physical and mental stewardship

  • Use cases:

    • High-commitment learners or cohorts ready to integrate life-formation practices alongside academics

5. Competitive-Entry Tracks – Earned, Not Bought

These are selective, higher-cost, and require sustained follow-through. They are not “experiences”; they are serious commitments.

5.1 ARKTIK Agritech

Goal:
Each learner cultivates 10 distinct plant varieties to a Swiss Plant Passport–style standard of documentation and care.

Core components:

  • Selecting and planning 10 varieties

  • Daily/weekly stewardship routines

  • Data logging (growth, conditions, interventions)

  • Documentation aligned with rigorous, Swiss-influenced expectations:

    • Traceability

    • Record-keeping

    • Quality checks

What it builds:

  • Discipline and routine

  • Respect for living systems and food literacy

  • Evidence-handling and documentation skills that apply to work, court, and academic settings

5.2 First Flights

Goal:
Each learner understands every major stage and key pilot procedure involved in a graduation first flight, and is prepared to complete that flight at a local municipal or private airport (subject to parental consent and local availability).

Core components:

  • Ground knowledge:

    • Flight principles

    • Safety and checklists

    • Airfield behavior and respect for systems

  • Procedure literacy:

    • Pre-flight planning

    • Checklists

    • Communication basics (appropriate to role)

  • Reflection and documentation:

    • Logs

    • Written explanations

    • Post-flight reflection (where flight is completed)

What it builds:

  • Respect for high-stakes systems

  • Calm execution under structure

  • Informed decision-making and risk awareness

Entry criteria for both tracks:

  • Demonstrated follow-through in core ARKTIK modules

  • Stable enough context to support the routines

  • Intentional selection by family/program and ARKTIK (not just ability to pay)

6. How ARKTIK Modules Are Deployed

ARKTIK modules can be deployed in multiple contexts:

  • Homeschool & Microschool:
    Parent or lead educator uses ARKTIK as the primary spine, optionally with ARKTIK stewardship (Founding Families track) for 90-day cycles or full-year plans.

  • Court-Linked & Agency-Linked:
    ARKTIK provides scoped modules and reporting windows (e.g., 90 days), aligned with court or agency expectations, while you retain all legal and case-management roles.

  • Schools & Districts:
    Modules used as:

    • Alternative track curriculum

    • Homebound/placement curriculum

    • Structured re-entry or intervention sequence

  • Tribal & Local Programs:
    ARKTIK modules integrated into existing programming, with respect for local governance and cultural frameworks.

  • Ministry & Community Programs:
    Used as serious academic and formation content under local pastoral or community leadership.

7. Choosing a Starting Point

Starting points depend on who you are and what you’re facing.

If you are a family or microschool:

8. What Stays Constant Across All Tracks

Regardless of the mix of core, electives, and competitive tracks, three things are non-negotiable:

  • Floor-first design:
    Plans are constructed so the least-prepared learner can still move. Stronger learners are extended, not the only ones served.

  • Documentation and clarity:
    Everything is set up so you can show your work — to yourself, to your household, and to any outside authority that asks.

  • Civic Dignity Standard:
    No learner is treated as a prop, case file, or statistic. The curriculum assumes dignity and responsibility at every level.
