Establish the next safe learning step
ARKTIK suggests choosing one trusted adult, a safe way to communicate and a manageable learning location. Share only the information needed to arrange support. A public inquiry form is not the place for court papers, medical records or sensitive family details.
Keep the school involved
Ask the school which assignments matter most, what materials are available, and who can coordinate the return to class. Ask separately how the school will handle attendance, deadlines and credit. Keeping a learning log does not itself excuse an absence or change an attendance decision.
Make the first three days workable
- List the learner’s current subjects, available materials and immediate barriers.
- Select a short reading or language task and a mathematics task at a workable level. Add an observation or project if time allows.
- Record the date, task, support provided, completed work and a question for the teacher.
- Review the plan with the family and school contact before extending it.
This is ARKTIK’s suggested planning sequence, not a prescribed curriculum or a promise of academic recovery.
Ask about existing school supports
If housing is unstable, contact the school district’s McKinney-Vento liaison to discuss eligibility and available support. The Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth directory helps families locate those contacts. Eligibility decisions are separate from buying an ARKTIK service.
Choose a defined support period
ARKTIK’s Education Continuity options cover 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 1 month or 90 days, subject to a written scope and availability. The plan should say who teaches, which materials are included, how progress is documented and when the plan is reviewed. It does not guarantee attendance recovery, court outcomes, placement or school acceptance of work.
